About Me

Willie “Wo” Westone (he/they) was born in Harlem, NY (raised partially in South Jamaica, Queens) and is now based out of Los Angeles. Wo seeks to use Photography and photography-related art as a creative outlet and a means to connect with others.

“ I want to say something cool like - I’m a queer black man and I seek to find power in the image as a way to contextualize the existence of those of us who are constantly trying to be erased. If my photography were a genre of music, it’d be jazz. I’m aiming to remind myself that my photography, like jazz, can thrive in improvisation, embrace the unexpected,..and us to revel in the big and small moments of life.
